How arise Mobicom

At the end of 1992 began the cooperation of Tatra Příbor company and Mr. Ing. Hans Joachym Spaedte on a project called “bureau mobil”, a new version of the Tatra car type T613-4, named “Mobicom”. This car is unique, and there is just this one exemplar existing in the whole world.

The project was conducted successfully, and in spring 1993 the first prototype left the gateway of the Tatra factory, the hamologation test came through and the car was used by Mr. Spaedte on a daily basis. It had been decided, that for the Mobicom an injection engine would be used -an innovation at that time-, as well as an air cooled V8, called T613/4KATi and a new five speed gearbox, the first to have the gear down, as it was later used in the Tatra T700. The dash board has been choosen from a T613 type “speciál” as well as body “LONG”. A lot of energy has been invested into the quality of fabrics and materials, the interior of the car is handcrafted to a large extend. Therefore, the mobicom has been partly upholstered and finished by the German company “Berger” in Frankfurt a. M.

The thus prepared car has been shown -together with the green “electronic” type- at the Internatioal Auto Fair IAA in Frankfurt in 9/1993, as well as later on another exhibitions in Prague and in Brno fairs.

Because of its high market price and a lack of readiness to fullfill the “bureau mobil”-contracts from both sides, the Tatra Pribor company and Mr. Spaedte, until these days there is only one prototype T613/4 Mi Long/ Mobicom, “the silver one”, existing.
